Don’t Get Locked Out! Password Reset Deadline is this Wednesday.

Change your Wesleyan Password by November 11th

Karen Warren, Director of User and Technical Services, is reminding the Wesleyan community to reset your Wesleyan password by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11th. Failure to change your password by this time will result in loss of access to all Wesleyan resources that require a password, including wireless, email, EPortfolio, Moodle and WesFiles.  To change your Wesleyan password, go to your EPortfolio and select “Password Manager” from the “Tools and Links” column.  Once you have reset your password, please restart your computer for the change to take effect, and also remember to change your password on your wireless and mobile devices.  

What Makes For A Good Password?

Passwords are integral to information security.  While we all know this, we often take the easy way and choose a password that is less complex and easy to remember, but far from secure.  If you need help coming up with an easy-to-remember but ultra secure password, ITS recommends checking out the Educause “Do’s and Don’t’s of Good Passwords” article with tips on how to set strong passwords.  

What To Do If You Miss the Password Reset Deadline.

If you forgot to reset your Wesleyan password by the deadline you will have two options.

The first option: Self-serve Password Reset. Select “Portfolio” from the “Tools” drop-down bar found on the university menu bar at the top of the Wesleyan website which will take you to the Wesleyan Single Sign-on webpage.  Under the Log-in box click on “Forgot Password”.  In order to reset your password, you will need to use either your WesID number or an alternate email address that is on file in your EPortfolio.  Please visit our ITS-Info blog for more information on using the password reset application. 

The second option: You may contact the appropriate ITS staff to unlock your account.
