Spotlight on… Calendaring

Do you need to have several advisees sign up for appointments? Would you like to schedule your office hours so that students will not all show up at the same time? You might like to take advantage of a new feature of the Google Calendar called “Appointment Slots.”

To create appointment slots you can just start entering an event in your calendar, but then choose “Appointment Slots” at the top of the pop-up dialog box. Google will walk you through the rest.

When you’re finished you can send or post a custom URL to your students or advisees that will let them sign up for appointments within the time frames you have designated. The process will create an event that will be added to both their Google Calendar and yours.
